Behavioral / Situational Questions

These questions will help the interviewer judge your problem-solving skills and visualize you in the role.

You’ll be required to share examples of your achievements, or you’ll be presented with a usual airline case scenario and you’ll have to give your opinion to solve it.

I have included as many questions as possible. So, just make sure you have 2 or more examples in mind before you attend your recruitment day and you’ll be fine.

  • How would you handle a difficult/angry customer? Give an example
  • How do you establish priorities when you have multiple tasks at work?
  • Think about a difficult co-worker or boss, what made him or her difficult? How do you interact with him/her?
  • Tell me about a time when communication became a problem when working in a team
  • As a flight attendant, you will be responsible for the safety of all passengers, what would you do if you felt there was a safety threat?
  • If you had a passenger that couldn’t keep calm, due to anxiety of a plane crash, how would you calm them down?
  • Describe a situation when you demonstrated initiative and took action without waiting for direction. What was the outcome?
  • How would you handle a situation where one passenger complained about the passenger in front of him for reclining his seat?
  • What would you do if you saw one of your colleagues being rude to a passenger?
  • Describe a time you had to adapt to new information in a situation. What was the situation? What was the outcome?
  • You notice you are missing items you need for your in-flight service. Requesting these items will delay the flight. What do you do? Do you delay the flight or go without inventory?
  • You notice two passengers are getting into a heated argument, one is complaining of not being able to stretch his legs because the other has his seat back lowered. What would you do?
  • You see a coworker taking items from the plane inventory. You are the only one who sees them doing this. They are gathering their belongings and leaving the plane. What do you do in this situation?
  • What would you do if two flight attendants were gossiping about another employee and you notice that passengers could hear them
  • You are on your way to replenish supplies from the front of the aircraft and you notice two passengers arguing over leg space. If you don’t get the items needed for inventory, this could delay the fight. What would you do?
  • Tell me about an obstacle you overcame. What was it? What was the outcome?
  • Describe a time when you took initiative without being asked
  • Describe a time when you were working on a team and one of the members was not doing their part, pulling their share of the work. How did you respond to this situation?
  • Describe a time when you wish you had acted differently
  • Name a time someone gave you constructive criticism and how you handled this

  • If your cabin manager was to give you an order that isn’t the protocol, what would you do?

Knowledge Questions

You will be asked this type of question at every job interview, so always be prepared!

With these questions, employers just want to know if you’ve done your research prior to the interview and you understand the job role and the company’s objectives.
