In my most recent Fabfitfun box I received the Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener. I’ve heard a lot about Thrive Causemetics from Beauty YouTubers (specifically Allie Glines) but I’ve never had the opportunity to try the brand before. I don’t purchase makeup and skincare directly from brand websites very often. Because Thrive Causemetics isn’t sold anywhere locally it wasn’t really on my radar. I was so happy that I got one of their products to try out from the most recent Winter Fabfitfun Box!
The Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener retails for $24USD and contains 1.4g of product. It comes in two shades, Stella (Champagne Shimmer) and Aurora (Rose Gold Shimmer). This Brightening crayon uses Ring Light Technology™ to diffuse light and highlight to give the appearance of wide-awake eyes. The Key Ingredients in the product are Mango Seed Oil for conditioning of the skin lipid barrier, Macadamia & Meadowfoam seed oil for hydration and Sunflower Seed Oil to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Thrive Causemetics is Cruelty Free & Vegan. For every product purchased from Thrive Causemetics another is donated to someone in need.
Packaging
I love the brand aesthetic of Thrive Causemetics. All of Thrive’s packaging is the same teal green shade so the brand stands out from the rest of my makeup collection. Even the product itself has the same branding. The tube is a teal twist-up pen with a champagne base to match the shade of the crayon. Not only does the Brilliant Eye Brightener twist up to dispense more product, it’s also equipped with a sharpener for a more precise application!
Formula
Thrive’s Brilliant Eye Brightener has a cream to powder finish. It can be used to highlight your brow bone and the inner corner of your eyes or brighten your water line. It can even be used as an eyeshadow primer! I personally prefer concealer or a creamy eyeshadow primer for my eyelids so I haven’t been using it as a primer.
The shade I have, Stella, has some shimmer to it. It’s essentially a champagne highlighting stick and it does a fantastic job of brightening my water line. I’ve used light pink and white eyeliners before and while they do a good job of “waking up” my eyes I think I prefer the subtle shimmer in my water line. It looks a little bit prettier than just a matte white.
This pen/crayon is lovely as a brow bone highlight or in the inner corners of my eyes. It’s nice to have a product that’s so multi-purpose! The Thrive Brilliant Eye Brightener has a subtle shimmer that I’m appreciating now that I’m in my later twenties, sometimes sparkly eyeshadow is too much.
Final Thoughts
Overall I really enjoy Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener. It does a good job of “opening” my eyes and is such a life saver when I work at 4am. It’s not a night and day difference when I use this product and when I don’t but I’ve enjoyed the subtle brightening effect. Now I just need to find something other than caffeine to make me less tired in the mornings 😆
