Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer has been one of the favorites for many makeup lovers and beauty influencers for years and that made me want to buy and try this concealer for myself. After all, it is the top-rated and voted concealer of all time.
While selecting the shade, I had real confusion as not many of the choices were available both online and in stores. Either they were too light, too dark, or not with the right tone.
Somehow, after going through tons of Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Swatches, I decided to for 120 Light which I now think is lighter than what I expected and required.

Review – Maybe Instant Age Rewind Concealer
My Skin Shade – Light to Medium with Neutral and Pink Tones. NC25
Packaging: It comes in a sleek glass tube with a transparent cap on it. It has a unique sponge applicator which actually quite attracted me. The transparent body helps to see how much of the product is left which I really find helpful.
Shade: 120 Light. Now because it is lighter than what I needed, I only use it to highlight as using it as my correcting concealer results in uneven and ashy under eyes. If you are NC25, this is definitely not your shade.
Fragrance: No fragrance as such.
My Experience
Now, because Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer has a twisting mechanism, I knew it is going to take time for the first time so I made sure I was not in a hurry as it took multiple, multiple twists to get the product out.
I know it can be frustrating when the concealer doesn’t pop out of the sponge after so many twists but don’t lose hope lol. It will come out at some point in time.
Once the concealer was out on the sponge, I applied it gently under my eyes using the sponge applicator provided and it went on smoothly. It glided on the skin without tugging my skin.
The sponge is super soft and went softly on the skin without dragging or tugging the skin.
Next, I blended it with my beauty sponge or concealer brush, whichever I am in the mood of and it blended beautifully without leaving any streaks or patches.
It offered medium coverage and was able to cover minor spots and marks. It didn’t completely conceal the dark acne marks and honestly, that literally requires layers and layers of the product if you want to vanish a mark with makeup.
Once blended, I did notice that it was settling in the lines even after setting it up with loose powder and the only reason I feel for this is the lighter shade. A lighter shade of concealer is never able to conceal the dark circles under the eyes and instead makes them look grey and ashy and also highlights the lines. This is why I now only use it to highlight my under eyes after I conceal it with my Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Concealer because that’s the best shade I have ever had for my dark circles.
A right concealer shade should be a 1 shade darker with correct yellow tones so that it can neutralize the darkness without being ashy. The shade 120 looked fairly right online but came out pretty light.
The texture once blended really looks smooth and even. It is easy to blend and doesn’t feel sticky at all.
The staying power is great as well as it lasted for hours. I didn’t wear it for the whole day so I can’t say if it will last from morning to night but once set with powder, it really increases the lasting power.
Overall, I really liked how it went. If the shade I had was more of a match, it would have been perfect.
If you are really interested in buying the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, go for it as it surely does offer smooth application and blendability but if you want to go for it just for the hype, then you can skip it because I found it as good as the other bestsellers, nothing over the top.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is a pretty decent choice as it offers smooth application and blendability without leaving any streaks or patches behind. It offers medium coverage and the unique sponge tip helps to glide the concealer under the eyes smoothly.
