Speed Rating

Tire speed rating tells you the maximum service speed for a tire. A speed rating isn't, however, a recommendation to exceed speed limits, and doesn't indicate how well a tire handles or corners.
We recommend that you choose new tires with a speed rating at least equal to your old tires. For example, if the recommended speed rating is a V, it's suggested that you replace it with a V, W, Y, or Z. If you mix tires with different speed ratings, be sure to observe the lowest speed rating.

What is the biggest tire you can fit on a stock Silverado?

If you are modifying a Chevy Silverado 1500 with its stock suspension to have bigger tires, the largest size you can use is 33.5-inch by default. The factory standard tire size is 31.6 inches for this truck model, noted as 265/65/R18. The 33-inch size tires are noted as 275/60/R20.

Can you put 33 inch tires on a stock Silverado?

Generally most newer Chevy Silverado pickups can fit 33 inch tires with just a leveling kit. If you want to fit 35 inch tires a lift is more likely to be required.
