Whatever oil you select, it must meet either VW 502.000 or VW 505.000 standard. I personally have been using Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro, which meets VW 502.000, in both my Audis (2006 A6 Avant & 2014 Q5 2.0L).

Any oil meeting 502.00 is going to work great. The easy ones to find are the Castrol 0W40 or the Mobil 1 0W40. Both at W*mart for cheap $$$.

first, isnt
5W40 for these engines
second, not all 502 00 are same oils or same mixture
there are group 3 4 and 5 oil, semi synthetic and full synthetic...
so Im asking, by users experience or people with more techical knowledge, which would be more suitable for these direct injection engines...
502 00 covers a VERY broad spectrum of engines...
plus I would need something built for high mileage engines.... and something that would "clean" better potentially build up sludge ....
bobtheoilguy site is amazing and has a lot of usefull info...

Castrol 0w40 for 4.90 $/L on Amazon is the cheapest choice.

G-can, VAG has never specified a base stock. They just create a spec and the mfrs have to meet the spec to be on the approved list. Virtually all the 502.00 oils will be some form of "synthetic". The oils widely available to us in the USA all work as the engine mfr intended. If someone wants to buy a boutique "Made in Germany" oil, that's find too.

u guys are missing the point of my question. I am aware that ANY oil that has 502 00 in its specs will be "okay"
BUT, they are NOT all the same
