These trays are a totally "cool" blast from the past! Originally invented in the 1930s and used widely in the 1950s, stainless steel ice cube trays are the original metal ice cube tray. In case you weren't around in the 1950's, here are some tips to make your life easier:
- Running cold or luke warm water underneath the Stainless Steel Ice Cube Tray helps the ice thaw a bit creating space for the metal ice cube lever to break the ice cubes gently. This makes it much easier to pull the handle and free the ice cubes.
- Run water for 3-4 seconds over top and bottom of tray. When the divider separates from the tray, you may pull the lever to separate the ice. Put tray back in freezer for 5-10 minutes to freeze again if desired.
