Rated 1 out of 5 by from trouble from start bought 7/11/2017..wrs588fihz..the WORST refrigerator i have had and im 72yo..it did not do right from day 1.would ice up..the ice maker did not work right from the day we bought it.lucky i BOUGHT a 5 year warranty.it took 3 years for them to fix it..another words we did not have ice in door for 3 years.not fair as my warranty is over half way gone.they SHOULD have replaced it because of lemon law. after 3 years they found out the door going to controls on freezer had broken wires from factory.just not right. works fine now as it is 3 years old now..it is (was) a piece of trash..makes me wonder what would have happened if i did not have warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Deanna from Excellent Fridge I love this Fridge. Delivered in October of 2017. No problems so far. I love Whirlpool products. Have great luck with Whirlpool brand. Fridge does not disappoint. For the outside dimensions of this fridge, it is huge inside. You can order extra shelves and door bins. It does not come with a butter covered bin but you can order one. Love the two pullout drawers in the freezer. The freezer is extra large due to the in door ice maker. Ice maker holds a ton of ice inside the door. So much more convenient that the bottom pull out freezer types because it so much easier to clean this fridge and freezer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mark from Serious Design Flaw! Purchased this about 3 years ago and everything worked well... for a while. About 2-3 months ago the ice maker stopped working. Apparently the wiring bundle that provides power to the ice maker in the freezer door has been worn through just because of where it's located and how it rubs against the bottom of the door every time it is opened and closed. The repair man said that Whirlpool is aware of the problem and has refused to fix the design to eliminate the failure mode. The fix only lasted about a week and we were told the only way to really fix the wires is to replace the entire door, which might get us another 2-3 years before the new wiring bundle wears out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by THERESA from Dont buy this refrigerator! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator in November and it took 3 weeks to be delivered. Within 3 weeks it stopped cooling, ice formed down the whole back wall of the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. I called Whirlpool 3 times, was put on hold for 30 minutes each time and told they could not service it for a week. I am now living without a refrigerator, all my food spoiled and all they can tell me is that they are sorry and they understand but cannot do anything about it. The warranty only covers repair, not replacement even though it is only 3 weeks old!! Never buy from Whirlpool is my advice!

We bought this whirlpool in hopes the problem would be solved. Ugh! This brand new unit freezes our food again! We got a repairman and he says this model does it all the time. His fix was to caulk the little hole at the bottom of the damper, so that the air from the freezer goes over the food not directly on it. It worked! So correct your design and make a new damper that works or you may loose a whole generation of customers It’s a bit embarrassing that I had to caulk my brand new freg. Thanks P.S. no butter dish?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lcat from Noisy!!! Purchased this model about 1 year ago and it is noisy! We had a repair tech come out 3 times. They replaced a part and that stopped the clicking sound, but it still runs noisy. It is almost always running so it really disrupts what use to be a quiet kitchen and family room. Our last Whirlpool lasted 18 years and was quiet compared to this! My niece and sister both have newer Whirlpool fingerprint resist refrigerators (not this model!) and theirs aren't as noisy. The repair tech called Whirlpool to see what else he could do to fix the problem and they say we have to live with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nann from Very very noisy We bought this fridge in November 2021. Immediately we noticed that it was much louder than our last fridge. Over the first few months it got increasingly loud until we called for a repair. A repairman came out and fixed the broken icemaker and also tried to fix the noise but said that it was really loud but there was nothing he could do. When we called again to have it repaired Whirlpool says they do not warranty noises. THIS IS THE LOUDEST FRIDGE I HAVE EVER HEARD. It is disruptive to our lives and whirlpool is not willing to fix the problem. Give yourselves a quiet house and piece of mind and do not buy this fridige.

I'm planing on buying this refrigerator but I have to say that I don't think much of the support being offered by Whirlpool... "Contact us via facebook or Twitter" ??? If Whirlpool cannot offer proper support via email on their website I'm not sure I want to buy an appliance from them, looks like Mickey Mouse support to me... just a way to brush off customers who need support. If I need support I don't want to do this via useless facebook or Twitter, which would do nothing but increase my level of annoyance when I need support for my appliances! Even posting something here allows facebook to track us...how absurd is Whirlpool support???
