The links style Islandside borders the Gulf of Mexico while the tree-lined Harbourside course overlooks Sarasota Bay.
There is a very large proposal on the table by the Longboat Key Club regarding a renovation-and-expansion project on the Islandside course. Before jumping into a membership here, one would be well advised to receive the latest news on where these plans stand. If approved, the Islandside course could be out of operation for a year or more. Membership does, however, allow you access to the Longboat Key resorts beach club…very desirable. I will attempt to keep current on the latest plans and developments…stay tuned.

The tennis garden is very nice and well run however the gulfside facilities are sub par for any resort. The tennis courts are visibly run down when you drive in. The spa is a joke and the poolside area is not attractive at all. We have been coming to the resort for almost 20 years and purchased a condo "behind the gates" so we could join the club and enjoy its amenities. We have seen it go downhill since our purchase and are disappointed with the current condition.

As the Longboat Key News reported in August 2012, The Longboat Key Club, owned and managed by Loeb Partners Realty based in New York City, entered into a joint venture with Ocean Properties, Ltd., a major hotel development and operating group.
