The Student Financial Services department is seeking a new member for its team! In this role, the Student Financial Services Officer will support the department of the Student Financial Services by: supporting all account receivable collection activities; supporting all activities necessary for accurate and federally compliant administration of financial aid and student accounts; providing data management for student enrollment, student account and financial aid and monitoring the endorsement of loan and outside scholarship checks to insure accurate and timely processing. Essential Responsibilities: Supports all account receivable collection activities by: •Assisting with the collection of accounts receivables •Assisting Nelnet monthly payment plan setup and collection of overdue accounts •Acting as a liaison between Saint Joseph's College and the designated collection agency •Creating promissory notes for in-house collection agreements with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality •Supporting all departments within the College to ensure payments are being applied to the proper record and account in the general ledger Supports all activities necessary for accurate and federal compliant administration of financial aid and student accounts by: •Supporting recruitment and retention activities by providing timely, accurate and thorough information to students, families and other constituencies including mailings and account review •Supporting administration of federal aid for the Online Programs and College by providing assistance to the Directors in those areas •Reviewing and processing student account reconciliation and credit balance resolution •Posting Financial Aid funding to students' accounts •Maintaining communication workflow within the department •Assisting and monitoring Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Billing email accounts Provides data management for student enrollment, student account and financial aid by: •Supporting administration of Title IV and other aid by assisting with document processing, enrollment and financial aid calculator data management; •Collaborating and creating Policy and Procedures documentation for all Financial Aid and Student Account processes; •Maintaining Student Account and Financial Aid Web pages, Student Handbook and other published materials. Monitors the endorsement of loan and outside scholarship checks to insure accurate and timely processing by: •Notifying and continuing follow up with parents and students via telephone, e-mail, and mail •Reviewing Financial Aid information for resolution of any expired and unsigned checks Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: •Familiarity with Campus Café and PowerFAIDS preferred •Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills •Intermediate knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Google Platform and Excel •Must demonstrate teamwork skills and a willingness to help others •Possess a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment •Strong people, interpersonal and relationship skills within all levels of the workforce •Strong customer service skills •Detail oriented and skilled with basic mathematics •Ability to perform detailed work using reasoning and problem solving skills •Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions •Strong oral and written communication skills •Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion •Tolerates work related stress effectively and maintains self-control/professionalism Education and Experience: BA/BS Degree awarded by an accredited institution is required Experience in successful delivery and administration of financial aid programs preferred Schedule: Full time position with estimated regular hours of 35 per week.
