This has been a family pilgrimage to Vermont and Lake Placid and we’ve always booked six months in advance. As myself and my son both suffer from allergies we’ve enjoyed an issue free trip each time. This year not so much. Having a dog ourselves we can appreciate other’s having pets as well. But the hotel is inundated with guest bringing dogs from small to extra large, the dog hair is everywhere and some of the dogs were aggressive. The grounds had droppings of dog poo , where residents of the hotel were being irresponsible. In a nutshell, I understand service dogs and a few small dogs, but it was more like a kennel. And getting waked in the middle of the night by howling and barking dogs was the deal breaker. Next year we will be staying elsewhere.

If your idea of a Lake Placid vacation includes quiet mornings by a lake-side listening to a loon's haunting call - we've got it. If your idea of a vacation includes being on the edge of control as you thunder down the Olympic track in a Bobsled on wheels - we've got that too. For many, Lake Placid is thought of as a winter destination, but those who experience our summers will quickly realize how diverse this mountain village is. We look forward to welcoming you at our full service Lake Placid resort soon.

The property is outdated and the staff is horrible im not sure if it was a racial issue or if thats just their personalities. There are no cameras and we had several items come up missing. My daughter was sick an entire day from food poisoning! The only positive is the outside views and its located in walking distance from downtown shops.

Breakfast wasn't worth the price. Bed was as hard as a rock. Room was really dry, humidity wise. Asked a staff member for a garbage bag he said he would get one and never came back. Not worth the 300 plus a night. Unknown stains in bathroom sink on arrival.

Items on menu not available. Upgrades to their dining options, accompaniments. Firepit could not be operated in late afternoon when temps were more moderate. Could be an excellent place but lands good or very good.
