crhemingway crhemingway User level: Level 1 Question: Hi Has anyone figured a way of getting media playback working from a new iphone 8 to the older Land Rover Series 4's - 2011-2012 models - the media cable works with an iphone 6s but not 8
.. Very annoying by Apple.. Supposedly
the iphone 8 is not supported by Land Rover.. . What did Apple Change ! ? Can apple re-fix the problem they have caused ! with the error Device Not Supported I've now lost all media playback via the car ! rendering our Media system useless.. Bluetooth calls work still iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.3.1 Posted on Apr 30, 2018 9:28 AM Reply All replies

None of them show that iOS 11 is supported. Since both the iPhone 8 and X are not listed, it seems that either there's a hardware difference that makes them incompatible or Land Rover needs to update their system to work with iOS 11. User profile for user: crhemingway Question: Device Error iPhone 8 and Land Rover Discovery 2011 USB issue in LR412-17-2010, 03:12 PMJoin Date: Dec 2010 Posts: 9 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts USB issue in LR4Just bought a new 2010 LR4. Haven't reached 1,000 miles yet. Love the vehicle outside of a fact that I new: a real gas guzzler! I have an issue with the USB radio connection which keeps telling me "Device Error." Tried with 2 different flash cards and same error. All else with the unit work well with no problems at all. Am I doing something wrong? Help!! 12-18-2010, 01:16 AMJoin Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 125 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts You're probably not doing anything wrong. I would recommend calling your service dept. to get your vehicle in ASAP. At that time, they will load it up with all the latest software. Since it is a 2010, it likely has all the original software. I had a lot of issues with my rear seat entertainment and there are still known problems with the ipod. They have software patches coming in the next 90 days to address most of it. I will let you know the outcome. Happy Holidays! 12-23-2010, 01:14 AMJoin Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 125 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts Any update on this one? Was the dealership able to diagnose the issue? 12-23-2010, 05:49 AMJoin Date: Dec 2010 Posts: 9 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts USB Issue in LR$Sorry for the delay in giving the feedback. The dealer did update the software and all is working fine. One item to remember is that music stored in the flash drive MUST be in MP3, WMA, or WVA mode. HAPPY AND SAFE MOTORING AND BEST WISHES TO ALL!
