Your sim card is in an invalid status tracfone

So I have an Iphone 6 phone. when I activate on the WWW with ATT SIM card TracFone I get this errorThe SIM card information you provided is invalid. Please review the information and try againwhen I use the real zip code. If I change the zip to the next larger city ATT works.I can see the tower and it is brand new we used it on ATT already (With an actual ATT Phone.

Is this one ATT tower locked out from TracFone?

When I went ahead and put in the fake zip code it in fact does work on ATT in the next town over but not at the tower by my house. I have done this 4x with 4 $9 phones for employees and none worked what so ever on ATT.

This tower does not show on the TracFone map. However its an ATT tower and fully in use with ATT accounts, not pre paid Tracphone.

I bought a new, unlocked MOTO X Pure from Amazon and added this sim card kit to my order for $1. I put the CDMA nano sim card in the Moto. When I followed the online instructions to switch my Tracfone number from my old phone to the Moto, I freaked out when I got to a message saying "If you proceed with this transaction, only your phone number and service days will be transferred from our TracFone Android to your new Tracfone phone. Any balance remaining in your Android phone cannot be transferred, and will be lost. Do you agree and wish to proceed with the phone number transfer." I clicked on "no," and instead went to the support page on the Tracfone website, and clicked on the "Chat" function in red on the bottom right. I did an online chat with "Marc" at Tracfone. My query to him was essentially: "Hi, I want to switch my account to a BYOP. My old phone is MEID DEC xxxxxxxxx. My new phone is IMEI: xxxxxxxxx and its SIM card number is xxxxxxxxx. Can you help me switch so I keep the balance I currently have for phone, data, and text?" With that info, he did the transfer and kept my balances in the 3 airtime buckets. Within a few minutes, I turned off the Moto, turned it back on and had it working with the proper account balance and service expiration date. Yay!!

Cost of SIM card was perfect, but because of the incompetence of the customer support folks for TracFone, I was unable to use it. In frustration over wasting 5 hours of my time, I trashed every TraceFone SIM card, including the one TraceFone sent me, and went to a big box store and bought an AT&T prepaid SIM card. It is so much easier dealing with customer service people in the US instead of those in India just reading from a script when the script does not fit your situation.

This 3 in 1 Tracfone Sim Card Kit is fine but it took multiple calls to Tracfone over a two week period to finally get the phone I wanted to use with Tracfone activated. At one point, they told me none of the SIm cards in the kit would work and they mailed me at no cost one that would. When it arrived, I installed it and called Tracfone to activate and the rep told me it was the wrong Sim card and had me reinstall one from the kit.

The phone I was trying to activate was a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S7 and Tracfone kept telling me that in order to activate it, I needed to give them the 4-digit security code of the previous owner. After about a dozen calls, I figured out the problem was that the phone had previously been a "lease to own" phone and was 8 months into a 2-year contract. I returned that phone to the ebay seller and bought another refurbished Samsung Galaxy 7 and when it arrived, I called Tracfone and 28 minutes later, the phone was activated using one of the Sim cards from the kit.

So, this Sim card kit is fine and I paid Amazon 99 cents for it getting free, 1-day shipping, and it will probably be fine in 99% of the cases, but when there is a problem, Tracfone's Customer Service is not equipped to track down the problem. I was the one who figured out what the cause here was not them.

Fast and easy without any problems this time (tracfone was really great in the past when there were problems and always restored lost minutes and then some. We were doing a 3 phone hand-me-down swap then, so they had their work cut out for em, too)
I was done in under 15 minutes, which surprised me. The hardest part was just opening my galaxy S7 to put it in. I can't suggest tracfone to enough people, honestly. It's fun getting to brag that my yearly payment is $100 and my new Galaxy S7 was $200 and is all paid off. Ive had tracfone for 6-7 years now and it has been great. Never cell service issues and transfers are great. We've only used galaxy phones with transfers though (and some really old flip phones and tracfone brand touch screens) so I can't guarantee it works for all phones, but it's tried and tested on our galaxy S4 phones and galaxy S7 phones (plural because 4-person family)

I have used Tracfone 365 day service plans on inexpensive low-feature phones for years to avoid the ridiculous charges by other carriers. I had no idea you could use the service on today's smart phones until I read more. I bought a new unlocked iPhone 7+, inserted this SIM card, followed the directions on the card, and to my delight, I could transfer the remaining service on my humble little hard-to-use LG phone to my fabulous new iPhone 7. It did eventually require a "chat" on the Tracfone website to get a few things straightened out and I had to add a data plan ($10) and a text plan ($5) to complete the package. Now I have a phone which I can use for light service with a cost of about $11 a month but I can add more service any time I need it. Tracfone now has an app you can download on your iPhone to see exactly what usage remains. In case you are wondering, this SIM has separate cards for GSM and CDMA so you can decide later which way you want to go. I must also mention that Tracfone customer service has vastly improved from the early days and adding time is quick and easy compared to the old drill.

This did not work for the moto g4play phone. I contacted tracfone and they said this will not work. The only place to get the BYOP Sim card is through Walmart or Target.

Update: I will now make this a five star. After talking for three days to six different people from tracfone, the first four being absolute idiots that didn't know what they were talking about, I finally got this to work in my new unlocked phone. I was about to give up and send my phone back to Amazon. I decided I would try one more time to talk to tracfone. I knew what had to be done but no one there would listen to me. There is a nano sim card and a dual standard sim card. I entered the sim card that I thought was correct and it wasn't so make sure you have the correct one before activating it. Long story short, the final person I talked to said it was a simple fix. He just had to deactivate the phone, reactivate it with the correct sim card and all would be fine. It was and I've been very happy with the process. Just make sure you use the correct card.

We got the triple punch SIM. I don't know how that is different from the other SIM options, but it was $1 and the others were more expensive at the time. Inside there were 3 credit card sized SIM cards. One for T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. You had to punch out the card to match the size you needed. Luckily we needed the nano size which is the smallest one. The card punched out a little too easily so I don't know if it would have worked for the bigger sizes.
The SIM card itself worked great. I liked how there was a number on the credit card sized version and under it, it said, this is not your SIM card number. It was easy to see how people could want to use that number, and nice that they warned you it wasn't the right one. The right one was in the middle of the card. I still don't know what the other number was for.
We used it to activate a new Bring Your Own Phone (the Moto G5) on Tracfone. We did it online and it was really easy. Just enter in the right SIM number. No problems at all and everything was switched within minutes.

I've had TracFone for some time now...almost a year, and it's excellent service.
My previous phone died so I had to buy a new one, and got this for it, and it was very easy to install.
I did have to contact customer service, but do you know the secret for this to go smoothly?

>>> Go to FACEBOOK and message Tracfone through their FACEBOOK PAGE!!!!! <<<

They are extremely knowledgeable and the whole process only took like 40 minutes. But the cool thing was, I didn't have to be on the phone. So, I could come back to my computer, check the message, respond, then go do something else, come back,.. So much nicer than having to be stuck on the phone.

I had previously called customer service, but couldn't understand the rep because of her accent and the sound was terrible, too low, I kept having to ask her to repeat herself and I never got my issue resolved, so I went to their Facebook page and the issue wasn't only resolved, but that rep gave me a heck of a lot more minutes, etc for my troubles! Very generous!

So, if you need customer service at all, for anything....go to their Facebook page. Seriously.

Works in Moto G 2015 on Tracfone GSM network.
Had to upgrade from Tracfone "feature" phone on the AT&T 2G network since it looks like they are getting rid of 2G. After several warning snail mails from Tracfone to upgrade, I decided to try a smartphone for a while. All mailers and product info states that ALL unused minutes migrate over. Feature phone to smart phone migration seems to require customer service as the minutes on the old phone doesn't get tracked on my Tracfone online account. Don't know if I had too many minutes left over, but I lost a bit over 1400 minutes in the migration through customer service. This lost the pair of stars here.
Other hiccup was the cards were packaged in the wrong envelopes. The GSM cards were packaged in the CDMA envelope and the CDMA cards were in the GSM envelope.
Other than that, service is OK where I need it. I haven't purchased more minutes yet, but It's supposed to triple on all categories, The migration from the "feature" phone put my (minutes - 1400) into the 3 buckets of (call minutes, data MB, and SMS texts). So x minutes on the old phone gives you (x minutes calls) + (x MB data) + (x SMS texts). On this plan, each SMS of 160 characters eats up one SMS point, unlike the feature phone where one 160 char SMS took 1/3 of a minute. So if most of your activity is short texts, you may be better off with another "feature" phone with triple minutes (one 160 char SMS text costs 1/9 of a paid minute).

I purchased an unlocked Motorola G4 Play phone for use with this product. I inserted the GSM micro SIM card into the phone and followed Tracfone's steps online to get my number and minutes transferred from an older android Tracfone I had. After waiting 2 days, the phone finally activated, but with a different phone number that had no minutes. I immediately called TracFone's tech support, which is what I was trying to avoid this whole time because of their bad reputation. When I told the customer service representative what happened, he said that since this was a Bring Your Own Phone, he would need to transfer me. Once he transferred me I was on hold for about an hour when I finally hung up because I had other things to do. Later that day I called a second time, and the same thing happened. I hung up after an hour of waiting. Later that night I called again, only this time the first person I talked to was very nice and willing to help. He said that I had a faulty SIM card and that he would ship me another one and that it would arrive within the next 2-3 business days. I waited that whole next week, and the card never came. By this time I needed a phone, and was tired of talking to Tracfone's tech support. I then realized that my phone was both GSM and CDMA unlocked, so I realized that I could use the CDMA SIM card instead of the GSM SIM card. I went on Tracfon's website and transferred my service from my "old phone" (which was the GSM SIM card), to my "new phone" (which was the CDMA SIM card) After waiting two hours for it to port my number, I swapped the GSM SIM card in my phone for the CDMA SIM card and Bam! My minutes and number were on my phone. I wish that I would have used the CDMA SIM card in the first place.

Why does my Tracfone say invalid SIM card?

This indicates that your SIM card is currently having a problem that prevents it from being detected by the network. Switch off your Android phone and confirm if there is a problem with the SIM card. Preferably, try and insert another valid SIM card and check if everything will get back to normal.

What does it mean when it says SIM is in invalid status?

The iPhone may issue the โ€œInvalid SIMโ€ error because of a software issue. Meaning, the SIM card may be wrongly placed, or the SIM card needs to be replaced by the wireless carrier.
