When you get a new iphone do blocked numbers stay blocked

On an iPhone running iOS 7 or later, you can finally block the phone number of a nuisance caller. Once blocked, the phone number remains blocked on the iPhone even after you delete it from your Phone, FaceTime, Messages or Contacts apps. You can confirm its sustained blocked status in Settings.

Block and Delete an Unidentified Caller

1. Tap your Phone or FaceTime app, followed by “Recents” to select a nameless number that appears in the log; for example, a toll-free number. In the Messages app, tap a message from an unfamiliar number, followed by “Contact.” Touch the “i” icon beside the caller’s number and then scroll down to tap “Block This Caller,” followed by “Block Contact.” Return to the Recents or Messages screen to delete the caller’s phone number or message.

Block and Delete a Contact’s Number

1. Touch “Contacts” within the Phone or FaceTime apps. Locate the contact you want to block. Scroll to the bottom of the contact’s info screen to touch “Block This Caller,” followed by “Block Contact.” Then, tap “Edit,” followed by “Delete Contact” to remove the person from your contacts.

Confirm Blocked Status

1. Tap “Settings,” followed by “Phone,” “FaceTime” or “Messages.” Next, touch “Blocked.” You’ll find the phone numbers and contacts you just blocked and deleted listed as blocked.

   I was wondering, since I have a few numbers on my iPhone 6, that I have blocked...
   (annoying people from the past that keep bugging me for some reason)

   - Is this so called 'blacklist' saved in iCloud?
   So that if I get a new iPhone in the future, and connect to iCloud... that these blocked numbers automatically STAY blocked?
   Or do I need to re-block these numbers each time I get myself a new phone?

   * Not that I'm planning to get myself a new iPhone each year, but still... it's handy to know how to deal with numbers that you want to keep blocked.

   Yes, blocked numbers are backed up and will restore from iCloud from one device to a new one.

   Great!!
   I was unsure about this so far... so I always kept these numbers in my 'contacts', so I could block them again each time I got a new iPhone.
   I guess I can safely remove these numbers from my 'contacts' now, since they are stored/synced in my iCloud anyway.

My girlfriend blocked a number of a person she wasn't supposed to be talking to. She swore up and down she did. She got a new phone and months later that number called. Did she lie to me. She uses the same icloud account, the same phone number.

Unless your phone company switched everything over from an old phone to a new phone for you- such as they moved over the pictures, contacts, etc., then the new phone that you set up by yourself- even if it's the same number- will not have the number blocked, as it was on the old phone.

If she had a backup with iTunes or iCloud and transferring that same backup to her new iPhone then every single thing should transfer from text message conversations to blocked numbers. So if she restored from a backup then she lied to you, if she didn't restore from a backup then no numbers will be blocked.

If you backed it up and then reloaded it then yes.

• Would restoring my iPhone unblock any blocked numbers? All of my iPhone contacts have been bloked I have a k9 app on my computer and a find my iPhone app and the app store is disabled I need to know if restoring the iphone would unblock all the blocked numbers if I tried calling them after restoring it?
• With my new iPhone 7 plus if I set it up as a new phone instead of moving my iCloud data to the new phone would I lose my? Unlimited data plan and phone number or would that still be there I already put my SIM card in 10 points
• IMessage and blocked numbers? If you block someone from messaging you on an iphone, can the messages still come through on an iPad or iPod? If so, how can you block them COMPLETELY?
• If I clear my old iPhone will the icloud back up stay on my new iPhone? Someone I know has a new iPhone 5 and I'm having their iPhone 4. They saved everything on the iPhone 4 to icloud and then downloaded that data onto the new iPhone 5. I want to clear the iPhone 4 putting it back to original state, however, they are concerned that as this phone holds the original photos etc. That this might also delete them off the new iPhone 5. Does anyone know for certain if this will happen or what to do to avoid it? Preferably without needing to back up to a computer.
