Integrated Math 3 Sem A Unit 5Unit Activity 1Student: Emerald WollensTeacher: NaleeniUnit 5: Trigonometric FunctionsUnit ActivityGoalsThis activity will help you meet the following educational goals:●Make sense of problems and solve them.●Reason abstractly and quantitatively.●Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.●Use mathematics to model real-world situations.●Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.ResourcesIn addition to reviewing the instructional modules fromUnit 5: Trigonometric Functions, the followingresources may be helpful to review as you complete the tasks below:TitleLinkTypeEdmentum How To:Submitting DropboxActivities (Math Only)sChTTWzwVbds-qSASiwPgN2ELc7bM/edit?usp=sharingGoogleDocAmplitude, Period,Frequency, Phase Shift |Math IS Funuency-phase-shift.htmlOnline ResourceIntroductionCan you think of ways that trigonometry is connected to the world around you? Trigonometry describes therelationships between the three angles and the three sides of a triangle, but it may be used in other surprisingways. One particular application is in periodic motion. Trigonometric functions can be used to model anythingthat operates on a cycle: seasonal weather patterns, the planets orbiting the sun, or even the spinning wheel ofa bike. These are all examples of periodic motion. In this activity, you will take a closer look at periodic motion in a model involving a child on a swing. You willanalyze graphs of this event and use a graphing calculator to model the movement.
