The anime series The Seven Deadly Sins released its long-awaited fifth season on Netflix, and it’s safe to say that fans are very excited about this overdue release. Finally, we will get to see the journey of Meliodas now that he’s become the Demon King and we’ll also get to see what this means for his six trusted comrades.
Of course, with such an epic conclusion to an epic story, binge-watching season five in one sitting was a no-brainer, but now that you’re done with the show, you’re probably wondering if you will ever receive a sixth season of this shounen anime series. How many seasons of The Seven Deadly Sins are there?
There are currently five seasons that have been created for this anime series with each season having about 24 episodes. Additionally, the series went on to receive a film in 2018 called, Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners of the Sky, which is available to stream currently on Netflix.
Is there a Seven Deadly Sins season 6?
Unfortunately, the fifth season of the show was announced to be the last, ending an amazing seven-year journey. Dragon’s Judgement is set to tie up most loose ends as well as give a sneak peek into the sins’ future, which wouldn’t necessarily warrant an additional season. However, not all hope is lost. The series will be receiving another film to officially end an era.

Will there be a season 6?
Netflix has not yet given the green light to Seven Deadly Sins Season 6. The Seven Deadly Sins will continue to provide us with new stuff. The Seven Deadly Sins franchise will get a new installment in early March 2021. It will be an anime movie that will follow the tale from season 5, which ended with the manga’s concluding scenes. There’s a good chance that the movie’s story will be scripted by Suzuki himself. “The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light” or “Nanatsu no Taizai Movie 2: Hikari ni Norowareshi Mono-Tachi” is the title of the film, which is now under production. This would be the second movie in the franchise after ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners of the Sky’ (or ‘Nanatsu no Taizai Movie 1: Tenkuu No Torawarebito’) which was released in 2018.

Seven Deadly Sins Season 6: Expected Plot
A follow-up series is likely to be made based on the author’s next work. According to Suzuki, after “The Seven Deadly Sins,” he wrote “Four Knights of the Apocalypse,” for Weekly Shonen Magazine, which initially published “The Seven Deadly Sins.” After being falsely accused of planning a revolution against the Liones Kingdom, the titular knights are separated. Several years afterward the Seven Deadly Sins were sealed up by the Knights, Elizabeth, the third Liones princess, discovers Meliodas, the bandleader. To redeem their identities and free Liones, they started on a mission to find the Seven Deadly Sins members who had gone missing. Meliodas was subsequently discovered to be the Demon King’s doomed son, and his fate is connected to Elizabeth’s.
“Seven Deadly Sins” season 5 will conclude the adaptation of the manga. A sixth season of the anime may adopt a whole new plot or perhaps the manga follow-up ‘The Four Knights.’ This is unknown, but given “Seven Deadly Sins” success and the impending movie, an anime based on Four Knights of the Apocalypse seems possible.
Each Season was separated by around 1-2 years. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an official release date because the series has still not been confirmed yet. Winter 2023, on the other hand, is a likely release date.
