It is being created to improve communications for ongoing programs and to provide a platform for promotion of the capital campaign to expand our facility. The new website will feature an event calendar, education class descriptions with sign up options, slide shows of recent events and contact details for the various staff and committees.A major part of the website will be used for promoting our $4,000,000 expansion plan to increase the size and use of our amazing facility. Plan your Rod Run 2022 Weekend Today

Rod Run to the end of the World, sponsored by Beach Barons Car Club, is one of the largest vintage car shows in the Pacific Northwest. Featuring over 1,000 classic cars and hot rods, participants gather from around Washington state to partake in the fun. Rod Run is the premier September event on the peninsula and features raffles, awards for the best cars, as well as parades through downtown Long Beach and Ilwaco Washington. 

When is Rod Run 2023?

The 39th Annual Rod Run to the End of the World takes place the weekend after Labor Day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,  September 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2023.  The fun starts Friday before dusk with a downtown Long Beach parade where families and general spectators line the streets to enjoy the chromed-out coupes, roadsters, and convertibles. 

Rod Run Activities

On Saturday morning, Members of Beach Barons Car Club, meet at a 27-acre field at 25515 Sandridge Road in Ocean Park, WA on the northern part of the Long Beach Peninsula. Here thousands of people gather to show off their vintage automobiles.

There is an opening ceremony at noon on Saturday. The admission price allows participants access to see all the cars and a swap meet that runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

On Saturday afternoon and evening there is a downtown Long Beach parade where spectators watch as cars roll through the main drag. The slow drag races in Ilwaco, WA also provide spectacle, as classic cars compete in street safe races.  See our calendar of events for more September activities on the peninsula.

What kind of cars will be there?

From classic Cadillac’s to iconic 80’s muscle cars, Rod Run to the End of the World only allows cars 30 years or older. Many participants dedicate years to the restoration and maintenance of their automobiles. Cars dating back to the early 1920s can be seen driving through downtown in near perfect original condition. From classic Model T trucks to iconic 1950s Corvettes, there is something from every era for the vintage car enthusiast. 

Is Rod Run fun for the family?

Rod Run to the End of the World is a perfect event for families, ranking at one of the best family activities in Long Beach. Drawing people of all ages from not only the Washington Coast but from around Oregon, Idaho, and California, this event provides the perfect venue for a fun weekend with kids. Will there be food and music?

Many locally famous restaurants provide food for the over 10,000 attendees of Rod Run. Spectators can grab lunch or dinner while watching the procession of classical vehicles coast down the main street. Be sure to grab a bite from one of the many Cheap and Delicious places to eat and enjoy the show.

Is Rod Run to the End of the World safe?

Although this event always maintains a family-friendly atmosphere, law enforcement is present during Rod Run ensuring the safety of everyone present. 

What is the history of the rod run?

Rod Run to the End of the World debuted in 1983 in Ocean Park. As the event grew in popularity, Beach Barons decided to move to its current location, the old Klipsan airstrip.
