Combining illicit street racing and tuner customization with the intensity of strategic police pursuit that surpasses any Hollywood-style chase scene, Need for Speed Most Wanted will be on every gamer's 'must-have' list this holiday season. Out-race rivals, evade cops and exploit hundreds of miles of open road as gamers make their way up the Blacklist.
To become the most wanted racer, players must build up their street cred and Rap Sheet with gripping, white knuckle, head-to-head races with the top drivers on the streets, as well as pull daring, evasive moves to out-run and out-fox the cops that patrol the open road. Players can manage their heat or utilize a number of strategic tactics to keep the cops off their tails as they leave their rivals behind to suck their exhaust fumes.
Need for Speed Most Wanted also features a variety of the hottest cars that range from tuners to super cars. You can customize your ride to race against any class of vehicles. The streets will be your playground.

I bought this game thinking it was the version shown in the video. This is the 2012 version of the same name. Caution before you buy!

I purchased this game for my brother hoping that it would be AT LEAST very similar to the NFS Most Wanted I played on my PS2 as a kid (like 8ish years ago). Because that was the BEST NFS game out there. The best car customization. Awesome cop chases and fantastic crash damage to the cops. It was such an awesome game. I wish they made free roam racing games like that still. This game is NOT like that. You don't even purchase cars. You drive around (free-roam) until you find random cars parked around the map, and hop in them. So, I guess, yeah you can drive a really cool - fast car within the first 5 minutes of the game. But, where is the story? Where is the "hard work" racing, and earning money to buy that sweet corvette??? Cop chases: Every time you cool down, it only drops a single heat level. Instead of ridding you from the cop chase entirely, you have to sit a very long time to ditch the cops. Not fun. You also can't smash through road blocks. You total your car. Lame. The cops feel very heavy regardless of the type. Again, half the fun is ramming through the cops. WHERE IS THE "FLAT OUT 2" DAMAGE MECHANICS? Yeah, I was hoping for the NFS Most Wanted game. This is completed different. Not happy :( Unfortunately.

It's a classic I still keep my 360 around because not all games have become backwards compatible yet and this game is worth it

I want the Xbox 360 version of Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) to be available in the Microsoft Store for backward compatibility.

Hey @LF1995GEG when it comes to backward compatibility it's Microsoft who decide what games are added to the service. They recently announced that there would be no new additions to the Xbox backward compatibility catalogue so it is unlikely that any more games will be added.

So good news; Xbox is still considering new BC titles for the new console! Maybe we'll see some older NFS titles updated!

I have slightly more hope now that titles are starting to show on Steam. Maybe we'll get some older titles there even.
