Song: Don't Move My Mountain
Album: Unknown Album
My Lord, don't mo-oo- oove my mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lo- o- ord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Oh-oh-oh Lord, you don't have to move the mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lo- o- ord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Lord I don't, bother nobody
I try to treat everybody
the sa-a-ame
But every time, I turn my back
They scan-da-li- i-ze my name
Oh Jesus, you don't have to mo-oo- oove my mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Now when my folks would slay me
Beat me as they would try to do
But Lord don't touch 'em
Cuz within their hearts
They could giver their li-i--ives to you
Oh Master, you don't have to mo-oo- oove my mountain
But give me the
strength to cli-i-imb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all, all, a-rou-ou-ound.

My Lord, don't move my mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Oh Lord, you don't have to move the mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Lord I don't bother nobody
I try to treat everybody the same
But every time I turn my back
They scandalize my name
But oh
Jesus, you don't have to move my mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
Now when my folks would slay me
Beat me as they would try to do
But Lord don't touch 'em
Cuz within their hearts
They could give their lives to you
Oh Master, you don't have to move my mountain
But give me the strength to climb
And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around.
LORD DON'T MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN
I
LORD HERE I AM AGAIN, DOWN ON MY KNEES IN PRAYER.
LORD YOU PROMISED ME THAT YOU WOULD ALWAYS MEET ME THERE.
NOW THERE'S A MOUNTAIN UP AHEAD, THAT I CAN'T SEEM TO CLIMB.
SO I'M BEGGING FOR THE STRENGTH TO TRY IT ONE MORE TIME.
II
NOW IF THERE WERE NO MOUNTAINS, LORD I MIGHT FORGET TO PRAY.
AND IF THERE WERE NO TRIALS, LORD I MIGHT EVEN STRAY.
BUT I KNOW THE HIGHER THE MOUNTAIN, THE SWEETER THE VICTORY.
OH LORD EVER REMIND THAT YOU WILL WALK BESIDE OF ME.
CHORUS
OH LORD DON'T MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN, JUST GIVE ME STRENGTH TO CLIMB.
FOR IF YOU SHOULD MOVE EACH MOUNTAIN, I MIGHT GROW WEAKER EVERY
TIME,
AND JUST AS YOUR SON JESUS, TOOK THE CROSS UP CALVARY'S HILL.
OH LORD DON'T MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN, SO I MAY BETTER DO YOUR WILL.

My Lord, don′t move my mountain But give me the strength to climb And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks
But lead me all around. Oh Lord, you don′t have to move the mountain But give me the strength to climb And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks But lead me all around. Lord I don't bother nobody I try to treat everybody the same But every time I turn my back They scandalize my name But oh Jesus, you don′t have to move my mountain But give me the strength to climb And Lord, don′t take away my stumbling blocks But lead me all around. Now when my folks would slave me These things they would try to do But Lord don't touch ′em But within their hearts Make 'em give their lives to you Oh Master, you don′t have to move my mountain But give me the strength to climb And Lord, don't take away my stumbling blocks But lead me all around.

Coates recommended her to The Caravans where she sang with them in the 1950s and the early 1960s. Andrews biggest hit was Mary Don't You Weep. Fellow member Shirley Caesar dubbed her "The High Priestess" for her ability to hit high notes. In 1962, she left The Caravans to start her own group: Inez Andrews and The Andrewettes until 1967 when she embarked on her solo career.
