DAVID AUSTIN ENGLISH ROSES
WESTWOOD GROWN QUALITY
60 years ago David Austin started breeding wiry old English Roses while selecting for specific traits, particularly fragrance and floriferousness (lots of color). What has developed is an impressive collection of fragrant, double petaled, full bodied but not to tall rose bushes that repeat bloom. English roses are disease resistant as well. Very distinctive double petaled blooms are great for cutting and bringing inside. Once there the fragrance will fill the room.
Westwood grows 1 rose crop per year in the early Spring. The roses are usually ready for sale starting in mid-March. We start with every variety at every store, but once we sell out – we are out. So…start early for best selection.
The pics below are linked to our root-stock vendors’ description pages. Click on one and it will take you down the rabbit-hole of color and fragrance descriptions, parentage and even petal counts. Happy hunting!
