Nice territory, but poor management. I know it's a seaweed season, and was expecting some- we specifically were choosing a bigger hotel, so they have tractors, etc to clean up the beach-what we got was absolutely opposite:tractors just passing back and forth without picking up anything. On day 6 of our stay 7 people came out to the beach with pitchforks and rakes, and guess what- they stayed there for 2  days ( entire days) and didn't clean up anything!!! So if you are looking for a nice and CLEAN beach it's NOT your option!!! The Pool is good, but there are not enough sunbeds, especially on weekends. FOOD is not really fresh, especially in the main buffet (restaurants are Ok, but often no reservations available), selection is pretty poor- I'm not a picky eater, but wanted some variety. Rooms were good, pretty clean and well maintained, however when we reported that a safe wasn't closing -no one ever came to fix it. Plus to their Karma-no plastic policy. Overall it was a pretty average stay. Would NOT consider this property again.

Iberostar is my go to hotel lines for this reason. I have been to DR twice before and I always find the employees disgruntled and not helpful, but this time it was different. This hotel was beautiful, clean, the employees were friendly and the food was really good. I went with children and they loved the kids waterpark. The activities were on the light side. Rosa from the entertainment staff was great! the whole crew is. The rooms were huge and we loved the shower. The beds were comfortable. I just wish the AC worked better at the lowest setting possible. Seaweed was out of control this time but that is not the hotels fault, its nature. Make it possible to reserve a restaurant the app. They make it difficult for you to get a reservation. This seems to be every hotel in Punta Cana. No one wants to eat at the buffet everyday. Unfortunately it was hard to find a spot to sit around the pool because the sea was not great so everyone saved chairs around the pool. Overall a great experience, I would definitely return to Iberostar Selection Bavaro, especially if they fixed the little things.

While this property was beautiful there were major shortcomings with the service. When I checked in I had to wait over 2 hours past the posted check in time to receive my room. After a long day of traveling this was disappointing. The other major issue was that the air conditioning in the rooms went out for over 24hours. So there was no place to go and relax and cool off. I have a small child that struggled to sleep and developed severe heat rash over it. The staff kept promising to “send someone” out but it never happened. No compensation was offered for being displaced for 1 full day of our trip. I felt that this was unacceptable for a destination that had 90 degree temperatures. The resort was absolutely beautiful with great amenities but unfortunately these issues left a lasting impression and I don’t intend to return.
