Bentley Manor, located in Shavano Park, is one of the most popular gated communities in the San Antonio area – and for good reason.

Shavano Park, which houses the subdivision, has a population between 3,000 and 4,000, giving it a comfy and homelike feel.

“City living with country charm” is in fact its motto, and what a fitting one it is.

The city has its own water system, fire and EMS services, public works, municipal court, police protection and street maintenance.

So it’s clear you can’t go wrong buying a home in Bentley Manor, nestled amid beautiful greenery in Shavano Park. This luxury gated subdivision located off Lockhill Selma Road between De Zavala and Anderson Loop 1604 is a hot locale for home buyers with its central location and easy access to the city of San Antonio.

Local amenities nearby are plentiful, bringing to the table something for everyone to enjoy. Swimming, tennis and basketball courts abound. Enjoy a swim in bright skies and dazzling sunshine, or visit walking trails and playgrounds to take part in the great outdoors.

For the outdoorsperson, Salado Creek Greenway and Eisenhower Park aren’t too far away.

Schools, too, are top-notch. Bentley Manor students are zoned to acclaimed districts like North East Independent School District and Northside Independent School district. Tom C. Clark and Ronald Reagan high schools are also options.

Northside ISD is the largest district in San Antonio, with North East ISD being second.

Northside was recognized in 2011 for the fourth consecutive year by the Texas Education Agency as one of the best school districts. Many of its schools have also been recipients of National Blue Ribbon School awards. And North East ISD offers seven magnet programs and on-campus facilities and sports venues, including two 11,000-seat football stadiums.

So all things considered, it’s a fantastic place to raise kids.

She said it has always been a popular place because of location.

“Although it’s not a brand-new subdivision anymore, it is newer for the Shavano area,” she said, noting that many other Shavano Park homes are a bit older.

Luxury and comfort is the order of the day in Bentley Manor.

All homes are residential, Stagers said, but there are a wide variety of types of homes.

“That’s the other thing that makes this subdivision attractive,” Stagers said. “They have a mix of garden homes and your estate home … that’s another thing that makes this neighborhood attractive.”

Most of the garden homes range from $500,000 to $600,000 in price, she said, while the estates range from $800,000 to $1.2 million.

And numerous prestige home builders are available to build homes in the area, making it a coveted spot for custom homes as well, accommodating the requests you might have.

 One thing that’s appealing to home buyers is the location, of course. Other major draws include beautiful, mature trees, gorgeous landscaping, the safety of a gated community, and the retail and entertainment available in the surrounding areas.

Stagers added that many homeowners in Bentley Manor appreciate that it’s easy to downsize – people can move from a large estate to a smaller garden home as time goes by, without leaving their subdivision.

She sells to a wide variety of different demographics, ranging from young professionals looking for garden homes to young families and retired individuals.

And, Stagers said, the opportunities to explore your surroundings are great.

“It’s really close to the RIM, and then you’ve got a Starbucks on the corner,” Stagers said, noting that the RIM was only about five minutes away. “You’re in Shavano, which is its own city, (with such a) small-town atmosphere.”

She added that it’s the “best of both worlds” since it’s easy to get to I-10 and 281, and it’s also close to Wurzbach Parkway.

Another benefit is the Medical Center is right nearby.

 If Stagers had three words to describe Bentley Manor, they would be “custom, estate, location,” she said. Certainly this is a place to live with a lot of charm and appeal for any home buyer.
