Classic British pigs in blanket, but all done in the air fryer. Why you will love them

  • Quick and easy - These pigs in blankets take just 8 minutes in the air fryer and they get deliciously crispy. That's half the time they take in the oven.
  • Space saving - Not only are air fryer pigs in blankets quicker than the oven, but it saves space. When you are making a big roast dinner, you need all the oven space you can get.
  • Can be made in advance - You can make these the night before and then keep them in the fridge until you are ready to cook them.
  • Christmas/Roast dinner staple - These are a must when making a roast dinner and they are expensive to buy for what they are.

Ingredients and substitutions

  • Sausages - You need little cocktail sausages for this recipe. You could use chipolatas if you wanted bigger pigs in blankets or just chop them up.
  • Bacon - You need thin strips of streaky bacon for this air fryer pigs in blanket recipe. Anything thicker and it will be too wide for the little sausages. We like smoked bacon for extra flavour.

What to serve with air fryer pigs in blankets

These are a must on any kind of roast dinner, but especially when it comes to a Christmas dinner. We have got you covered when it comes to everything you could possibly need for a roast dinner.

When it comes to roast meat, try our Slow Cooker Roast Beef, Slow Cooker Gammon or Slow Cooker Lamb Shoulder.

A roast is all about the sides in my opinion and we have plenty of those to share too. Air Fryer Roast Potatoes, Garlic Spring Greens, Honey and Mustard Parsnips and Sage and Onion Stuffing Balls are all a must. You could also just serve them on some Mashed Potatoes with gravy.

These don't just have to be for a roast dinner though. They go down really well at a party! Serve them up with a dip made of Dijon mustard and honey. So good!

Storage

Store: Any leftovers can be stored in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freeze: You can freeze these in freezer bags for up to 2 months.

Defrost: You can cook these from frozen - they will take about 11 minutes in the air fryer.

Reheat: You can either reheat them in the microwave for 30 seconds or in the air fryer for 4 minutes.
