Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen crazy I truly am. Since my fascination with sunscreen hasn’t died down, I’m going to try as many sunscreens as I can so you guys don’t have to. If you haven’t read
my article on the basics of sunscreen and why you should care, make sure to check it out. With the whole frenzy with the sunscreen debacle back in 2019 with the whole Korean sunscreen controversy, lots of companies have taken
note and have either reformulated their sunscreens, pulled it off the shelves quietly, or have shown the SPF “proof” to show their trustworthiness. In my compilation of sunscreens that have been approved by Ahn In Sook (CEO of Korea Institute of Dermatological Sciences in Korea), Dr. Jart had two made the list. To my surprise, Dr. Jart has quite a few sunscreens. I was able to pick up three out of the five they currently have, so let’s go through it together, and hopefully, I
can help you choose the best one for your skin type out of the three that I have. Show Dr. Jart everyday sun day mild sun Limited edition/

From the looks of it, it seems like they’ve recently repackaged all of their sunscreens. Don’t quote me on this but I have seen a few older pictures and they weren’t in this tube. Other than the size, I do like the overall look of all these sunscreens. Each version has a colored tip for the lid and different coloured text on the tube to easily differentiate between each other. If I’m not mistaken, the mild sun is the only one that is a physical sunscreen. Out of all three, this is the thickest and takes a bit more time to massage into the skin. Yes, it is kind of pasty and unfortunately does leave a bit of a white cast behind. Can you see where it has been applied? So if you are planning to do flash photography, definitely stay away from this sunscreen. And if you are a darker complexion, I would stay away from this sunscreen as it will for sure make you look ashy. Throughout the day, I felt like this sunscreen was making my skin more matte and I felt a bit dry. I personally like hydrating and dewy sunscreens or just anything that won’t dry my already dry skin out.Another thing you have to keep in mind, this sunscreen seems to pile a bit. So if you do want to work around this sunscreen, make sure to apply your skincare well in advance before putting on this sunscreen. Fragrance?: Pro: Con: Repurchase?: Stars given out of 5: Overall

Not that it matters that much but just a little subtle thing I wanted to point out. Texture, Finish, white cast:Out of the three, this would be the middle child in terms of texture. It is much more fluid and not as pasty as the mild sun version. I’m pretty sure this is a chemical sunscreen, hence there is no white cast and it massages into the skin effortlessly. Hmm, are my eyes deceiving me? There seems to be a slight white cast but it isn’t strong at all. Or it could be just the reflecting. Anyways, this sunscreen is somewhat moisturizing and didn’t seem to dry out my skin throughout the day. Reapplication was smooth and I didn’t have any issues with piling either. I wore this throughout the crazy heatwave when it was 40C and this sunscreen held up relatively well. Then again, I don’t have one of those sunscreen cameras, so I really wouldn’t know. The texture really reminds me of my all-time favorite Thank you Farmer sun project water sun cream with its gel-cream texture and its hydration levels. Both actually land at the same price point, however, Thank you farmer has 50 mL while Dr. Jart’s is 30 mL.This is a chemical sunscreen and does not leave any type of white cast on the skin. The finish is dewy and I love the hydration it gives me throughout the day. If you aren’t dry to normal skin type, you might not like this since those who don’t have dry skin will find this to be too heavy throughout the sweaty summer days.
