You can transfer your points from your Chase Ultimate Rewards to a spouse or someone else in your household. This is especially useful if you’re saving for a vacation or purchasing a big-ticket item. But make sure you have the other person listed as an authorized user on your account if you transfer points to their frequent traveler program.
Restrictions on transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points depend on where you’re transferring them — to another person’s frequent travel program, such as Marriott Bonvoy or IHG Rewards Club, or another person’s Chase Ultimate Rewards account. The only thing transferring points has in common is that the person receiving the points must be a member of your household.
Transferring Chase points to another person’s frequent travel program
If you plan on transferring points to another person’s frequent traveler program, for example Marriott Bonvoy, that person must be listed as an authorized user on your credit card account. That person will then be the only authorized user who can receive point transfers to their loyalty program.
Points transferred to loyalty programs must be moved in 1,000-point increments.
Transferring Chase points to another Chase Ultimate Rewards account
Moving points between Chase accounts is a little more forgiving. You can transfer your points to another Ultimate Rewards card that you own or to a member of your household. The other member doesn’t need to be an authorized user on your account.
Transferring your Chase points to another Chase account is straightforward.
- Log in to your Chase account and select the Chase card you wish to transfer points from.
- Click on Redeem rewards to enter the Ultimate Rewards
page.

Open the top menu bar and click Combine Points.
- Enter the requested information of the account you wish to receive your points. If you’ve already entered their information, they will automatically show up as a choice.
- Select the number of points to transfer and click Review. From there, confirm your final selection and the points are on the way.
How to transfer points to another person’s frequent traveler program.
Transferring your points to another person’s frequent traveler account is a similar process with a few small differences.
- After selecting the credit card you wish to transfer points from, select Transfer to travel partners from the top menu bar.
- Next, choose your desired transfer partner from the list and click on Transfer points.
- From here, you’ll need to choose the recipient of your points. You’ll need to select the recipient from the drop-down box and enter their respective loyalty program member ID in the fields. Note that for personal cards, only you and your listed household member will be available for selection.
- Once the entered information is accepted, you can select the number of points you’d like to transfer and click Confirm to complete the transfer.
In many cases, points transferred this way are processed and available instantly in the loyalty account. However, some frequent traveler programs may require a day or more for processing. Check out our Chase travel partners page for more information.
