Do you love the trendy look of white painted walls and kitchen cabinets, but have no idea where to begin?  This is the post for you!  Since I just did a ton of research on exterior white paint colors for painting our exterior brick white, I thought narrowing down the interior white paint choices would be a cinch.  But I realized very quickly, that choosing a white paint color isn’t easy.  So today I wanted to go through my top picks for the 9 Best Sherwin-Williams White Paint Colors (for Interiors), and why I chose them – to help you get started on choosing the best colors for your home.

Just kidding!  I’ll break it down to make it as easy to follow as possible 😉

9 Best Sherwin-Williams White Paint Colors

#1  Pearly White – SW 7009

I started off with SW Pearly White because I just painted our dining room walls this color, and I think it is a very “universal” white paint color.

It is a cool white, but I feel that it has just enough of a “hint” of yellow – that warms it up a bit.

  • R:  232G:  227B:  217
  • Hex Value:  #e8e3d9
  • LRV:  77

Pictured below:

  • Shiplap walls & ceiling – Pearly White SW 7009

It appears white and crisp against the black window trim, but warms up with the ivory club chairs and bleached wood coffee table.

In other words, those elements bring out the “yellow” or warm-er undertones in the paint color.

#2  Eider White – SW 7014

So, I picked this color because it seems to be one of the most popular cool white for walls!  What does that mean?

Well, SW Eider white is the “go-to” cool white for cooler coastal blues and greens, and blends beautifully with shades of pinks and purples.

  • R:  226G:  222B:  216
  • Hex Code:  #e2ded8
  • LRV:  73

In my honest opinion, it leans a little “too pink” for me personally.

But… I might just have to try it out somewhere in our house so I can get a true feel for it – LOL!

  • Shiplap/Cabinets – Snowbound SW 7004

#3  Snowbound – SW 7004

SW Snowbound is the color that we used on our kitchen/office cabinets, trim, shiplap, built-ins, and closet walls.

So needless to say it is definitely one of my favorite cool whites.

  • R:  237G:  234B:  229
  • Hex Value:  #edeae5
  • LRV:  83

I will say that it does lean a little “pink” ….. it is on the same color swatch as Eider White (just lighter).  It works perfect for the “cooler” coastal colors in our house.

#4  Alabaster – SW 7008

SW Alabaster has been the most popular SW white paint color, probably for over 10+ years.

This paint colors works with both warm and cool color palettes, and that’s what makes it so popular.

We painted our kitchen cabinets and trim SW Alabaster years ago, and I did love it.  But it ran a little “yellow” or “green” for me – but just during the warmest and brightest sun times of the day.

That’s the only reason I went with SW Snowbound the second time around when choosing our kitchen cabinet color after we flooded.

  • R:  237G:  234B:  224
  • Hex Value:  #edeae0
  • LRV:  82

And here is a picture of our kitchen remodel (below) with the former cabinets painted SW Alabaster, and the new cabinets painted SW Snowbound.

  • I just wanted to show you a couple of pictures with the paint colors side by side so you can see the difference in the undertones.
  • The yellow-green undertones of SW Alabaster bring out more of the pink undertones of SW Snowbound when side-by-side.

But…. it doesn’t look “pink” in our house – just wanted to clarify.  😉

#5  Greek Villa – SW 7551

SW Greek Villa has been trending as one of the more popular white paint colors for several years now.  It is a timeless white that has a little bit “stronger” yellow undertones, and is a brighter white.

I was planning on using it in our south-west facing dining room, but it just pulled up a little too yellow for that room.  That is why I chose SW Pearly White (for that room).

But I think it would be a great color for our north-east facing bedroom, where it would pull up more gray undertones.  It is a stunning color.

  • R:  240G:  236B:  226
  • Hex Value:  #f0ece2
  • LRV:  84

#6  Origami White – SW 7636

I chose SW Origami White 259-c3 because it the color in between two other very popular colors on the same paint swatch (SW Zurich White 259-c2 & Aesthetic White 259-c4).

  • SW Zurich White is another popular white paint color, but it reads a little pink in my house.
  • And Aesthetic White is the color of our painted exterior brick (so I do love it), but it reads a little more yellow inside my house.

Update – To see it in our house, click:

SW Origami White is a happy medium, with less noticeable undertones (than the other two).

  • Hex Value:  #e5e2da
  • LRV:  76

#7 Pure White – SW 7005

SW Pure White is another one of Sherwin-Williams more popular whites.  It is a timeless white that has very slight “yellow” undertones.

I feel like this is the paint color that popped up the most for “white trim color” when doing my research.

  • R:  237G:  236B:  230
  • Hex Value:  #edece6
  • LRV:  84

It is also very stunning as a soft wall color too, and looks amazing against black or gold.

#8  Creamy – SW 7012

SW Creamy is a very popular warm white, that has been growing in popularity over the last several years.

It is a good choice if you like a more “soothing” color palette, and less contrast – against darker colors.

I also feel that it works well to showcase or highlight white accents – whether on trim, accent pieces, or bedding, etc.

  • R:  239G:  232B:  219
  • Hex Code:  #efe8db
  • LRV:  81

The kitchen cabinets are painted SW Creamy in the picture below.

And even though the bar stools and overhead lights are black, the look of the cabinets are still “softer” giving it a more homey feeling.

  • Check this paint color out (on Pinterest) for more pictures.  It really is a beautiful color.

#9 Marshmallow – SW 7001

SW Marshmallow is a beautiful warm white that has slight “pink-beige-mauve” undertones.

It is also one of Sherwin-Williams’ timeless whites, and can be used in both traditional and modern decor styles.

This color would work best with hardwoods or accents that have more red (or purple) undertones.

  • R:  238G:  233B:  224
  • Hex Code:  #eee9e0
  • LRV:  82

In the picture below, the kitchen cabinets are painted SW Marshmallow.

I couldn’t find the wall color source (ugh – sorry), but you can see that it blends beautifully with the red undertones in the wooden beams and hardwood floors.

In this picture below from West Elm, you can tell that the wall color blends perfectly with the covered headboard (in mauve).

  • I just wanted to show you that these paint colors can work in many different decorating styles – amazing what paint can do!
