Pros of The Mazda CX-5

Perhaps the biggest bonus to the Mazda CX-5 is its affordability. With a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of just $24,350, this vehicle falls well within the budget of many price conscientious car buyers throughout Gainesville or Brunswick, GA. Buying a more affordable vehicle will allow your family to spend more of your hard-earned dollars on fun things like weekend getaways and dinners out with the family. Additionally, the Mazda CX-5 is far more fuel efficient than the RDX. Despite being an SUV, the CX-5 is able to get upwards of 31 miles per gallon on the highway. This means fewer fill ups each week making it the perfect car for commuting back and forth to work. Adding to the affordability side of the Mazda CX-5, as you work up to even the highest trim levels, you'll find that Mazda tends to compete very well with the most prominent names in luxury automobiles, with added advantages of driver-centric features and cost-effectiveness.

Pros of The Acura RDX

A big plus to the Acura RDX is its horsepower. With up to 272-horsepower, this vehicle really packs a punch. While power is important to some, others who just need the vehicle to commute to work or get the kids back and forth to St. Augustine High School may not be as impressed by this. Additionally, the Acura RDX includes many luxury features such as premium speakers and upgraded finishes. If you are someone who enjoys the finer things in life, then this may be the right car for you, but be sure to investigate the high-trim offerings of the Mazda CX-5, as the features available there compete with even the finest of luxury vehicles. Ultimately, for a little bit extra power, the Acura RDX winds up not always being a worthwhile option.

Cons of The Acura RDX

While this car may include some luxury features that many drivers will enjoy, it still carries quite a high price tag for the average home budget. At a starting price of $37,400, this vehicle can carry a large monthly payment and down payment when financing. Keep in mind that this starting price is just for the base model, does not include tax, title or registration fees, and will increase with any upgrades or extra features. Additionally, very few features actually come standard on this vehicle which means you may wind up feeling as though you are being severely up-charged for additional upgrades once you finally build a vehicle that meets all of the needs of you and your family.

Both of these cars have some positive features and some features that leave much to be desired. The key is to establish early on what your specific set of criteria is and make a well-informed decision accordingly. Are you seeking out the all-around best deal in a car? Then you may want to look more closely at the Mazda CX-5. Do you enjoy the finer things in life and are willing to pay extra for them? Why pay extra when the high-trim levels of the Mazda CX-5 easily compete with the finest offerings of the luxury market? For Jacksonville area drivers that seek the most bang for their buck, there is no comparison to the benefits offered by the Mazda CX-5.

So my fiance and I are looking at getting a new car. The CX5 and RDX are the two front runners right now. If it helps we live in Denver.

I'm leaning heavily towards the CX5 signature trim, but my fiance is less convinced.

One problem, we haven't been able to find a Signature trim to actually test drive due to low inventory. Drove a GT with the PP, and I thought it was nice, but worry it might be a bit under powered for mountain driving. My fiance is less concerned about the engines and is more interested in the interior and to an extent the brand.

For the interior she thought the PP was nice, but wasn't completely sold. Does the Signature add enough extra wow factor to help sway her?

I did really like the Acura, but in order to get the same suite of technology you'd have to get the Advanced Package. And while the screen is bigger and nicer, it's missing android auto, and has less ft/lb of torque and MSRP is over $10k higher.

Do you guys have any thoughts on the comparison?

Is Mazda CX

It handles better than ever, but most importantly its comfort and refinement are at another level when compared to the previous model. Combined with a very punchy and efficient diesel engine, an upmarket interior and plenty of kit, and it's easy to see why this is one of Mazda's best sellers.
