My 2012 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 7,700 miles had to go in to the dealership for the common no heat on the drivers side. Of course I find this out when it gets cold out and now we have some snow on the ground It just pisses me off that all this work has to be done on a basically new vehicle. They are replacing heater core, oil cooler and radiator along with flushing the system. I am happy that the tech knows what he is doing and is replacing the whole system. Now I'm rocking a mini van:suicide:

I assume he's flushing the block but we will see. The defroster was almost cold on the driver side just like the vents, it wouldn't melt frost off the window after it started giving me problems. The passenger side was still blowing hot air like it did the day it was new.

They had it since last Wednesday and called today, they said come get it. Parts won't be here until December 24th at the earliest but they don't expect them that soon. Now I get to ride around in my Jeep with no fucking heat and fight the window freezing up since defrost blows out cool air. I would get rid of the mother fucker if I didn't stick a bunch of money into the diff's, lift and wheels/tires.

Right side heat

We had the problem of no heat to the floor on our, at that time new, 2009. They got the parts in and when the mech went to work on it he noticed the factory carpet was bunched in front of the drivers side floor outlet. They cut the carpet to let it lay flat and we had heat on the drivers side. Doesn't affect the defrost, just floor heat.

Basically, if I understand this correctly, you have heat everywhere but on the driver's side defrost?
It hardly sounds like a core/cooler/radiator problem. It sounds like a blend door problem in the duct distribution housing.

I am still waiting on parts and now I don't even have heat on the passenger side. It barely melts frost off the window and if you turn the blower higher than the first setting it blows cold air. It is bad enough that I'm getting frost on the inside of the windows. It is the heater core being plugged, there are many threads on it.

Sorry to hear it.
I've lost heat in the winter before, but nothing like we're experiencing now.
Your Jeep's essentially useless...
If I could make ya laugh about it, I'd say, "Embrace the suck", but nothin's funny about freezin' your ass off.

I have to laugh about it since it's not going to do any good getting mad. I won't be buying another Jeep after this experience, I'm really thinking about selling it and getting a truck once it's fixed. The shitty part is I had 4.56 gears and tru-tracs front and rear thinking I would keep it longer than a year and a half.

If you have the vehicle, why not back flush the heater core?
The worst it can do is take some time. The best it can do is give you some heat.

I have had some luck blowing out the heater cores. I have been using full pressure shop air and adding some water to it before blowing it out. I do both sides to make sure.

I went to the dealership and said they need to do something because I was tired of no heat when it's single digits out. I found out that the parts to fix the heater have been in for a while, they were waiting on a part to fix it popping out of gear when it's cold.

I wish they would have gave me a different vehicle so I didn't have to freeze my ass off but I did have fun with it in the last snow storm. It's just been a frustrating experience and they have lost a customer. I wanted to buy a Rubicon next year for the wife so I didn't have to take her to work when the weather is bad. Now I have to figure out what to get her.

I would find a new dealer to work with. You have to realize shit happens. Don't let a bad experience ruin your jeep life.

I bought from this dealership because I was told it has a better service department than the other Jeep dealerships around. I don't want to have to travel 2 1/2 hours to the next closest dealership to buy and get warranty repairs done. I might just find a used one since I do most of my own repairs that way I don't have to be at the mercy of a shop.

Over 8 inches of snow and still without my jeep.

How many actuators does a 2011 Jeep Wrangler have?

I also used these videos in the process of creating this step-by-step write up. Thank you to the authors of the videos! I could be wrong, but I believe there are actually three actuators installed in a Jeep Wrangler JK, each responsible for different function.

Why is my Jeep heater blowing cold air?

Low Coolant Level The coolant (usually a mixture of water and antifreeze) in your engine doesn't just work to keep the engine from overheating: It's also the source of heat supporting the heating system. If there isn't enough coolant in your system, the heater core will blow cold air into your car.

Why is heat not working in Jeep Wrangler?

The most common reasons a Jeep Wrangler heater isn't working are a broken heater blower motor, a problem with the thermostat, or a failed heater blower motor resistor.
