alldata doesnt show the location but says its only 1/2hr to r/r so it must be in the open - either on the intake or side of the block

It's at the driver side rear of the intake manifold. See the little tower sticking up in the big at the valley pan? Thats the oil pressure sending unit right there. They don't take much time to change, the problem is that the oil pressure sending unit is an odd shape. I have a special socket that fits over it and it comes right out with the
special socket. Not sure how you'd do it without the socket.

Is there anywhere on the web that shows step by step instructions on how to first, remove the sending unit and then clean the sending unit? After looking at Jay4Speed's pic, it looks like i have to take off the "SS" plastic engine cover and then the intake IOT reach the sending unit...?

anyone "cleaning" them, usually replace them. As Jay said, you need a special socket to remove/replace them. It's fairly easy to do, just climb in and start looking around, you will see how to do it.

Bummer, but it's still cheaper to replace it myself (vice cleaning it) than to have it done at the shop. well....I guess I'll just dive head first in then; thanks for responding.

Problem solved: End result is that I don't have to see the "check engine / low oil pressure" light on anymore!
Bought a new oil pressure switch ($41.00)
Bought the oil pressure switch socket adapter ($9.00)
Time to complete the entire procedure...about 15 minutes
