2002 dodge dakota 4.7 crankshaft position sensor location

The crankshaft position sensor of Your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L is located below the front underside of Your vehicles engine. The crankshaft sensor should be situated inside the crankshaft itself, below the hood near the center. It is specifically located under the aft exhaust manifold where it is held with one screw or a bolt in some cases. You may need to replace it but it can be difficult to remove these screws. Make sure You have a flat head screwdriver on You. You need to replace Your crankshaft position sensor as soon as possible if Your engine starts stalling. This can be result of a wiring issue, but it generally indicates a bad crankshaft position sensor as well.

Bought a new (non Mopar) sensor and installed it due to the rubber gasket being broke and leaking oil. The old sensor snapped and I had a heck of a time getting it out. Well never did I have a check engine light light or code for this sensor, until new one was installed. Now I get Vrnk shaft, multi misfire, camshaft codes and occasional stall and rwv limit of 2,500 rpm's. Once I stop and wait say many 2 hours and restart it it runs fine for a while then same thing. It drops to 0 rpm loses power and then RPM's rise again and engine turns back to normal but with a 2,500 rpm's limit.
